Litecoin founder revealed via a Twitter post that the upcoming HTC Exodus smartphone is set to support LTC as well as “Lightning Network [LN] on Litecoin natively”.

Hi Traders,

Charlie Lee, the founder of the world’s seventh largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization – Litecoin, was thrilled to announce his Twitter followers on 30 July about a new partnership between his blockchain-based company and HTC Exodus. Here’s what he tweeted:

Met the HTC Exodus team last week and was really excited to hear the phone will support LTC and Lightning Network on Litecoin natively! I will be an advisor as I see having a secure crypto phone that makes LN simple is needed for mass adoption.”

The announcement on the launch of the “world’s first ever native blockchain smartphone which will run on decentralized applications (DApps)” has been made since May 2018 by Taiwanese electronics manufacturer HTC Corporation.

The electronics manufacturer boasts a production of over 100 million smartphones throughout its existence on the market, and now the company intends to “reshape the internet” by “making decentralization a reality.”

The promising HTC Exodus smartphone is due to be launched this year.

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are also set to be supported

In addition to Litecoin (LTC), the upcoming product will offer support for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) – the first two largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, according to CoinMarketCap. Moreover, the new product will make it possible to trade virtual coins between owners of the same type of smartphone.

Two other additions to those mentioned above have been announced on July 10. HTC revealed that the upcoming product will be designed with a built-in digital wallet and popular CryptoKitties game.

I want to see a world where the end consumers can truly own their data (browsing history, identity, assets, wallets, emails, messaging, etc) without the need for central authorities. There is a lot of work ahead of us, but I believe the mobile hardware layer can contribute significantly to our new decentralized world,” claimed  Phil Chen, the company’s Decentralized Chief Officer.
