MetaTrader 4 Supreme Edition Review

Elite Currensea’s Chirs & Nenad has been long-time users of MetaTrader 4 before stumbling up to MetaTrader 4 Supreme Edition (MT4SE) by Admiral Markets and Axitrader’s MetaTrader 4 NextGen. The latter comes with a free access to a month of our live trading signals (usually €109/month). The platform’s most prominent features include:

  • Global opinion
  • Mini terminal
  • Trade terminal
  • Tick chat trader
  • Real-time news aggregator

Below you will find an overview of these key MT4SE features and our opinion on where they really exceed generic MetaTrader 4 features. Hopefully, after reading our review you will better understand whether it’s worth using/switching to Admiral Markets over the before – mentioned features.

Platform availability

Good new here, MT4SE available to all demo and live accounts users. Keep in mind that demo account is currently (mid-2017) limited to 30 days trial version. Therefore, We suggest you open a demo account putting some time aside to test the vast amount of features available on the platform.

Unfortunately, at the time of this review, the platform was fully available only for Windows users. However, Mac enthusiasts can still try to benefit from some of MT4SE’s features by contacting Admiral Markets support. You can learn more about macOS compatibility on Admiral Markets website.

Key MT4SE features (updating)

According to Admiral Markets, MT4SE pack whopping 100+ features. For the convenience of the overview, we will only cover the features we find particularly interesting. You can visit Admiral Markets MT4 Supreme Edition page for a full platform documentation.

Global opinion

The feature has been added only in 2017, 5 years after MT4SE has been first introduced. The addon was developed by Acuity Trading and offers an opportunity to tap into the wisdom/noise of the crowds. You can see how social media users, as well as journalists from leading financial publications, treat instruments offered on Admiral Markets platform.

We are still testing the feature, but it sure looks promising for market sentiment traders. Pair it with string technical analysis skills and sound judgment and you can be aiming at a lucrative trading experience.

Mini terminal

This feature has been among the first we got our hands on. While being a simple tweak, it adds freshness to the platform and also saves time by simplifying access to the most basic MT4 functionality, like opening/closing positions.

Mini Terminal also shows the latest changes in asset prices. While being a minor improvement over basic MT4 functionality, the aesthetics and usability make the feature a minor improvement over out-of-the box MT4 feature.Trade terminal

Trade terminal

Being a bigger brother of the mini-terminal it contains various handy data and trading tools which will help you to keep a better eye on several trading opportunities, make templates for frequently used order-types, use trade alarms, and indulge in more sophisticated calculations for your trades. Trade Terminal offers a lot of value, particularly for scalping and short-term trading. We haven’t seen a better MT4 tool for scalping.

Tick chat trader

Trading from tick charts is something especially more experienced traders will appreciate. The does a good job at:

  • measuring tick price changes
  • viewing  chart types, like, candlesticks and trend lines to crossover
  • exporting tick data for analysis in excel/google sheets

Real-time news aggregator

Metaquotes already does a good job providing trading news on its platforms, but MT4SE goes an extra mile to offer:

  • live news and forex calendar data directly in MT4SE
  • import custom RSS-feeds
  • in-depth account history analysis
  • all sort of trading statistics

We find the tools useful for traders who like to keep data in one place. This helps a more holistic appraoch to data analysis and, consequently a more informed trading decisions.

Why we review Admiral Markets?

While it was never an easy task to find an honest service provider in Forex, nowadays, finding a reliable broker got even harder. Lately, entry barriers for opening brokerage have been reduced which resulted in a flood of new, unregulated, companies entering the market. While not always dishonest and unqualified, many new businesses still struggle to provide it’s clients with security and quality tools for trading, hence we believe the likes of Admiral Markets and AxiTrader are the good choices if you are looking for an advanced MetTarder 4 experience.

We have been trading with Admiral Markets for more than a decade and we can vouch for the company, for its pledge to honest execution practices, negative balance protection policy and determination to build superb trading software and tools.
